VIRTUS Data Centres announce availability of TeliaSonera International Carrier services to LONDON2 customers
LONDON – 19th February 2015 – VIRTUS Data Centres Ltd. (VIRTUS), London’s flexible and efficient data centre specialist, today announced that TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC), the leading fibre based telecommunication services provider, will expand its global IP backbone infrastructure (AS1299) into VIRTUS’ LONDON2 data centre in Hayes.
As such VIRTUS customers are provided with a direct, uninterrupted path between 200 PoPs throughout North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. One third of the Internet already transits TSIC’s backbone which provides a full global routing table with minimal AS hops, reducing the number of paths data has to travel between source and destination. TSIC offers Internet, Ethernet, international voice and IPX-based services today, which are provided with industry-leading reliability and security.
Tim Brady, Sales Director, Western Europe, TeliaSonera International Carrier, said: “London plays a vital role in developing the world’s big ideas. Delivering those ideas to the world over TSIC’s IP network, with the high performance guarantees you’d expect of the world’s second largest IP backbone, is exactly what we do. Adding the innovative LONDON2 facility to our global reach was a natural step in our on-going network expansion.”
Darren Watkins, Sales Director, VIRTUS Data Centres, added: “LONDON2 is already an award-winning, world class facility with a broad range of connectivity options, but we are always striving to improve on its offering. We welcome TSIC to LONDON2, providing a high performance global reach option which will help strengthen our ecosystem and further benefit our customers across leading financial, enterprise, cloud and technology industries.”
