As part of the EU commission funded PEDCA Project, we will be running a series of workshops in Warsaw. The workshops are designed to widen participation of the project and beneficial industry collaboration in the fast growing region of Poland and its surrounding countries.
The PEDCA team from the UK, Netherlands and Germany will be holding a series of workshops during the day which are aimed to focus on how the region can benefit from the project thus far and in its future work.
If you would like to participate in the workshops please complete the registration form (we have a limited supply of complimentary event entry tickets for those attending one or more PEDCA Workshops.
The workshops are as follows:
Workshop 1 – “Who needs a voice and who needs to listen” chaired by DCA co-founder Steve Hone and Green IT Amsterdam Public affairs & Innovation Program Manager, Jaak Vlasveld.
Delegates will discover if the region can benefit from
increased international awareness, a bigger voice on standards and best
practice development and organised representation at national and regional
Governments. Members of the workshop will learn the rationale and drivers
behind the creation of the DCA in recent years and examine the
possible opportunities and benefits of collaboration and a coordinated industry
message in the region.
Workshop 2 – “How can the region leverage from PEDCA?” chaired by DCA Director Simon Campbell-Whyte and UEL’s Dr Rabih Bashroush)
Now that PEDCA has started and will find a way to continue its work, offering a data centre knowledge platform to Europe and this growing industry. How will the region, and in specific Poland be able to profit from PEDCA?

Delegates in this workshop will learn if the region can lead the world on environmentally sound data centres. The workshop will examine if there are local opportunities for the reuse of waste of heat, and will look at what can be done to improve reduction of waste? The delegates will discuss if there special circumstances or ways Poland and its surrounding regions may take a leap forward and find ways of competitive advantage in data centres?
Workshop 4 – “Special PEDCA Focus Panels” led by Dr Jon Summers, Michael Walker of Aimes and Ineke Vlot of SMK.
Your opportunity to shape the future of the PEDCA project and the industry – 40 mins of education on the projects findings followed by break out sessions to discuss the problems and the ways to address them.: Focussed on creating innovation through training and skills, delegates will get a special briefing on the €1.7M European Commission funded PEDCA Project’s findings so far and how Poland and the surrounding region can take advantage by recognising the future roadmap of the EU Data Centre Market and realise its opportunities..
