Call for Papers

The University of Leeds, Data Centre Alliance (DCA) and Data Centre Solutions (DCS) magazine are pleased to invite you to submit a paper to be considered for presentation at the third Data Centre Transformation Conference, which will take place this year on 9th July 2013 at the University of Leeds, England.

This event is intended to attract an international audience and participants with contributions from both academia and a large cross section of the data centre industry. The focus of the event is on developing and maintaining a sustainable data centres industry and includes two keynote speakers:

Dr Robert Tozer (Operational Intelligence). Data centre energy efficiency analysis.

Emma Fryer (Intellect UK). Energy efficiency and climate change policy for the data centre industry.

Deadline for submissions is 29th April 2013

The areas of particular relevance and interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Energy efficient components and systems (hardware and software)
  • Minimisation of greenhouse gas emissions (including heat reuse and smart grids)
  • Integrated Data Centre systems (making better use of IPMI)
  • Metrics and standards
  • Data Centre components and systems lifecycles
  • Engaging with and educating policymakers and the public
  • How growth in consolidation, cloud, virtualisation and storage will affect data centres
  • Energy efficient data centres
  • Managing perimeter security and access control
  • Data Centre Operational Management and control

The submission should include the following information:

  • Speaker name and company
  • Position, address and contact details (email and telephone number)
  • Title of paper being submitted with a 200 word abstract
  • Presenter’s short biography (max.100 words) and any other supporting documents
